Get the best of both worlds by trekking to the base of the highest mountain in the world and flying over the high Himalayas. The Everest Base Camp Heli Trek is an ideal chance for everyone to appreciate the greatness of the mighty Himalayas spread across the horizon in Khumbu. The dignified Mount Everest (8848m) along with Lhotse (8414m), Nuptse (7861m), Pumori (7161m), and many more provide stunning views throughout the trek while you traverse through the traditional villages of Sherpas. Flying above the picturesque settlements, elevated snow-covered peaks, and glaciers truly can be a proud moment for praising the artwork of nature in Nepal.

The Everest Base Camp Heli Trek has a total of ten days with eight being spent in the lap of great mountains. Those days might feel short as the whole trekking region is compact with such extreme scenic beauty after all. Marking the beginning of the journey from the capital city, the trekking route takes you to the beautiful villages in the mountainous region. Throughout the trek, you will reach the places like Lukla, Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorakshep, and Everest Base Camp. The unique Solukhumbu district has respected Sherpas who are considered expert mountain climbers and guides. With the strong influence of Buddhism, many monasteries can be seen along the way. The trek features the ancient Tengboche Monastery which is considered the most sacred by the Sherpas in the Khumbu region. The trails take you through deep forests to the rocky hill to glacial moraines which finally end in Everest Base Camp (5364m). The view of the Khumbu Himalayas seen from the base camp cannot be seen from anywhere else in the world, and the feeling of standing at the base of the mighty Everest (8848m) is enough to make one feel proud of the journey endured. The Heli ride back to Kathmandu flies you above the high Himalayas and allows you to relish the enormity of the mountains.
The day consists of a long trek from Dingboche to Lobuche. Although the pathways are rocky with a few small houses along, the trail offers intensely beautiful scenarios. You first ascend to Dughla on a stony terrain with breathtaking views of the mountains and rocky hills. Then walking on lateral moraines of Khumbu Glacier, you reach Lobuche. Overnight in Lobuche.

Arrival in Kathmandu

Kathmandu You arrive in Kathmandu and you meet our representative at the airport who will take you to your hotel in the heart of Kathmandu.

Day 2 :

Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla ; trek to Phakdingma

Flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2700 meters)

In the morning you have a scenic flight to Lukla (2800m.) from Kathmandu. It takes 30-40 minutes to reach Lukla. Then you start your trek and head to Phakding. You descend steeply to the Tharo Koshi which is also known as Kusum

Kangru Khola (river). After crossing the Tharo Koshi River through the suspension bridge, you climb to Ghat and continue to climb to Phakding.

In Phakding you can climb to the Gompa to see your first view of the high peaks. O/N at Phadking.

Day 3 :

Phakding to Namche Bazaar

On this day at first, we follow the Dudh Koshi River and reach Zamphuti. From here you can see excellent views of Thamserku Peak. Then you ascend to Chomoa, the site of an agricultural project, an interesting place to have a look around and gain an insight into the farming way of life of these people. From Chomoa, we continue our walk uphill and enter the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park (1148s9 km, established in 1976) at Monjo (2840m.). We continue our walking uphill with mountain views and finally reach Namche Bazaar. Stay at the Guest House- Lunch, Dinner, and Breakfast. O/N at Namche Bazaar (3420m).

Day 4 :

Rest day and acclimatization at Namche Bazaar

It is time to acclimatize at Namche Bazaar itself. We recommend you to explore Namche Bazaar, as this town hosts numerous wifi-linked cafes and restaurants, souvenirs, and gear shops. We have several hiking options – such as visiting Hillary School, Sherpa settlement, Syangboche Airport, and yak farms. If you are passionate about Everest, you should not miss hiking up to Everest View Hotel, from where you can catch the breathtaking views of Mt. Everest.

Day 5 :

Trek to Tengboche Monastery

This day we leave Namche bazaar and walk for some time along the ridge and then descend to Dudh Koshi River at Phunkithanka. Then after crossing the bridge, we ascend the steep path up to the Tengboche. On reaching Tengboche you will see the local monastery. Tengboche has the largest Monastery in the Khumbu region.

Day 6 :

Tengboche to Dingboche

At first, we descend to Debuche, cross the suspension bridge on the Imja Khola, and then climb to Pangboche amongst thousands of Mani stones. Our uphill trek continues, taking us to the quaint traditional Sherpa village of Dingboche with its exquisite views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam. Overnight at guest house.

Day 7 :

Acclimatization day at Dingboche

This day is also a rest day for proper acclimatization. We hike to Nakarshang peak 4800m and then mountains. We finally return to Dingboche 4400m.

Day 8 :

Dingboche to Lobuche

Today, the trail continues along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and passes by stone memorials for climbers who have perished on nearby summits. We continue to climb as we are heading to the altitude of 4910 meters at Lobuche which is really just a few
huts at the foot of the giant Lobuche peak.

Day 9 :

Trek to Everest Base Camp then back to Gorak Shep

Camp (5365 meters) then back to Gorak Shep (5180 meters). 8 hours.

This is another big and difficult day walk along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base

Camp at 5365 meters, the closest you can get to Mt. Everest without mountaineering equipment.

There will likely be a team there about to attempt the summit. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is spectacular. We return back to Gorak shep for the night.

Day 10 :

Hike up to Kalapattar and trek back to Dzongla

Most of the morning on this day is spent climbing Mt.Kala Pattar a small peak (by Himalayan standards) at 5555 meters. The ascent is demanding but the climber gets the most magnificent mountain panorama: Everest, the highest point on the planet at 29028ft, 8848 meters, towers directly ahead, and on all sides loom the other giants, Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and countless others. We make a quick descent to Gorak Shep. Then we descend gently to Lobuche and then go upward to Dzongla.

Day 11 :

Dzongla to Thangnak

This day at first we walk on the flat stone path for some time passing through an arid valley. Then we ascend the steep path to Chola Pass on the icy trails along Chola glacier. After we reach Chola pass we descend down on another side through the stony path until we reach Phedi. From there we climb down to Thangna. It is a small village with few lodges and tea shops. You can catch a glimpse of Machhermo Peak and some others.

Day 12 :

Thangnak to Gokyo

We walk along the glacier route until we reach the first Lake of Gokyo. The trek is easier over a flat path following the Dudh Koshi River up to Gokyo. It is a windy valley and situated near the third lake. At Gokyo, you are stunned by the natural beauty of Dudh Pokhari Lake.

Day 13 :

Day hike to fifth lake (4980m) 4-5 Hours

Today day hike to north of Gokyo for vast distances with little gain in altitude. About 2 hours walking from Gokyo you reach at fourth lake known as Thonak Tsho (4840m) and continue follow the trail leading up to the next lake fifth lake known as Ngozumpa Tso (4980m). On the edge of the moraine to the east of the lake there is a small hill festooned with prayer flags from where you will see the beautiful views of Mt. Cho Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Ngozumpa glacier, Everest, Nuptse Lhotse and Makalu etc. After enjoying with nature beauty then return all the downhill to Gokyo (4750m). Overnight at teahouse

Gokyo ri early in the morning
