Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho lake
Annapurna Circuit and Tilicho Lake Trek take you to the amphitheater of natural riches along with astonishing Buddhist cultures decorating the region with shades of prayer flags and monasteries in a surreal fashion. The first part of the trail takes you through the Manang valley to Tilicho. You rejoin the Annapurna Circuit route crossing Thorung La Pass (5416m) and trek to Poonhill, a famous viewpoint to see the views of the Himalayas.
The trek starts from Besisahar and continues along the Marsayangdi River. The trail takes you takes through the lush subtropical forest countryside and ethnic settlements and provides breathtaking views of the snowcapped mountains. Traversing Tal and Chame on the way, the trek heads to Pisang for a brief stop. From Pisang, the Tibetan-Buddhist faith signals the beginning of its spread deep into the roots of the people there and you make way to Manang through a ton of monasteries. Exploring the last village of Nepal, Khangsar, we head to the Tilicho Lake. Tilicho Lake is not just a treat to the eyes but also a site of historical and religious importance as per the Hindu books. After exploring Tilicho, the trail crosses Thorung La Pass (5,416 m) and takes you to Muktinath. Muktinath is another holy site and scared destination for Hindu and Buddhists. The second part of the trail is filled with picturesque Gurung villages and delightful rhododendron forests and descends along Jomsom, Ghasa, Tatopani, and finally to Ghorepani. The early morning hike to Poonhill provides a great view of the sunrise over the mountains. During this entire journey, you get to see the stunning landscapes, majestic mountain peaks, and observe an incredible mix of flora and fauna. The trek package not only provides views of the mighty peaks like Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Tukuche Peak (6,920m), and Mt. Annapurna I (8,091m) but also allows exploring the ethnic culture practiced in the traditional villages of Nepal. Annapurna Circuit and Tilicho Lake Trek is a challenging experience that is why you need to be physically fit for completing the journey. The best season for this trek is between March-May & Oct-Dec.
