Transfer to the rafting starting point at Tumlingtar, which is located in the eastern part of Nepal. The drive typically takes around 10-12 hours, but some rafting packages may include a short flight from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar (about 1 hour) to save travel time.
The road journey passes through scenic landscapes, with views of rivers, hills, and local villages. Alternatively, the flight to Tumlingtar offers amazing aerial views of the Himalayas.

Arrive at Tumlingtar.

Upon arrival at the starting point, your rafting guide will provide a comprehensive safety briefing.
This includes instructions on paddling techniques, safety commands, and what to do in emergencies. You will also receive rafting gear such as life jackets, helmets, and paddles.

Start rafting on the Arun River.

The Arun River is known for its pristine beauty and challenging whitewater rapids, making it one of the best destinations for rafting in Nepal. The river offers continuous class III to IV rapids, especially during the pre- and post-monsoon seasons.
As you raft down the river, you will encounter exciting rapids such as “High Anxiety,” and “Rapid Fire,” which are thrilling and technical. In between rapids, enjoy the serene beauty of the surroundings, which include steep gorges, dense forests, and remote villages.

Resume rafting for the afternoon session.

Arrive at the riverside campsite.

The rafting team will set up a tented camp at a suitable location on the banks of the Arun River. You’ll have time to change into dry clothes, relax, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Camping: Enjoy a fresh evening meal prepared by the rafting crew. Spend the evening relaxing by the campfire, sharing stories from the day’s adventure, and sleeping in comfortable tents by the river.
