Pisang Peak Climbing
The Pisang Peak Climbing, as the name suggests, obviously includes an exhilarating journey to the lap of the Himalayas and additionally also consists trek through the barren yet intriguing land of Manang culminating at the windy region of Jomsom. Pisang Peak Climbing starts with your arrival in Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, you drive to Dharapani and then start trekking. The trail follows the lowland paddy fields and slowly gains altitude to arrive at Upper Pisang. After a day of acclimatization, you head towards the Pisang Peak (6091m). Pisang Peak rises above the Pisang village in a uniform slope of ice and snow to the final summit pyramid. The view atop the peak consists of panoramic views of snowcapped mountains like Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Manaslu (8163m), Lamjung Himal (6,983 m), Annapurna II (7,937 m) and other peaks in the Annapurna region. As you head towards Manang, you can notice the change in vegetation and the difference in landscapes. On the way to Muktinath, you cross Thorung La Pass (5,416 m) pass which is the highest mountain pass in the world. After crossing the pass, you make your way to Muktinath which is a sacred site for both Hindus and Buddhists alike. From Muktinath, you head to Jomsom passing the deepest gorge in the world and end the trek there. The trail takes you past many streams, dense forests, suspension bridges and traditional villages. The trek package not only provides you an opportunity to view the mighty Himalayas but also allows you to observe the Tibetan way of life. Pisang Peak Climbing is a technical climb and requires good physical fitness and sound health. The best season for this trek is from March – May, and Sept – Nov.
