Overview
Tharpu Chuli (5,695 m), also known as Tent Peak, is one of the toughest mountains to climb in Nepal while enchanting you with the majestic Himalayas and gleaming glaciers. The peak climbing takes you through astoundingly rich Gurung culture and its heritage. Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing requires immense technical effort, proper preparation, and utmost caution. Tharpu Chuli Climb takes you into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary and provides you with the finest views of the snow-capped mountains.
Tharpu Chuli Climb begins with your arrival in Kathmandu. After a short stay in the valley, the trip begins. From Kathmandu, you take the tourist bus and drive to Pokhara, ‘The City of Lakes’. A short drive from Pokhara will take you to Nayapul which is the starting point of the trek. During the trek, you pass through the dense rhododendron and magnolia forests, traditional Gurung villages and explore the incredible blend of flora and fauna in the region. For reaching the summit of Tharpu Chuli, you trek past the Annapurna Base Camp and ascend to the Tent Peak high camp. The trail to the top of the summit is steep, consisting of ice and rocks, and requires the complete use of the climbing gears. The trek package not only provides you an opportunity to view the mighty mountain peak such as Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna II (7937m), Lamjung Himal (6983m), Machhapuchhre (6997m) but allows you to observe the Gurung lifestyle. The best season for the climb is autumn (Sept to Nov) and spring (March to May). The skies are clear during this period, thus you can enjoy the remarkable views of the Himalayas without any interference. With constant guidance from trek guides and company representatives, the Tharpu Chuli Climb is well-designed to make your journey as pleasant as possible.
