Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek
The Dhaulagiri South Base Camp Trek is a remote and adventurous journey to the southern face of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m)—the seventh-highest mountain in the world. This unique 15-day trek offers a perfect mix of off-the-beaten-path trails, wilderness camping, and cultural exploration.
Unlike the popular routes in Nepal, this trek takes you through untouched forests, high alpine meadows, and traditional Magar and Thakali villages. It leads you to the rarely visited South Base Camp of Dhaulagiri (4,700 m), where you’ll enjoy stunning views of Dhaulagiri’s massive south wall, glaciers, and surrounding peaks.
Along the way, you’ll camp in peaceful spots, walk through rhododendron forests, visit a sacred alpine lake (Lati Baraha Tal), and enjoy the quiet beauty of Nepal’s hidden valleys. The trail starts from Beni and ends in Larjung, where you can also hike to see the Dhaulagiri Icefall.
This trek is ideal for trekkers who want a remote, crowd-free, and off-the-grid Himalayan experience, blending natural beauty, high adventure, and cultural richness.
